Hygiene Paper Tester - HPT 01DV

The quality of hygiene papers depends vitally on their ability to quickly absorb large amounts of water. IGT emus GmbH (Leipzig) have developed a patented method for measuring this quality criterion implemented by the measurement device HPT 01DV.

The HPT 01DV humidifies the tissue paper sample in a well-defined and reproducable manner. A digital video camera is used to record pictures of the water diffusion. This allows to measure amount and velocity of water absorption at an accuracy never achieved before.

The special image processing software developed for HPT 01DV by PATTERN EXPERT is used to perform the required accurate real-time measurement of the humidified area at a very fine temporal resolution.

The software uses the RS232 interface to control the measurement device, whereas the camera is connected by FireWire (IEEE 1394).
